Dr Hong Truong

Consultant Paediatrician

MD, DCH, FRACP

Dr Hong Truong is a consultant general paediatrician who provides comprehensive care for children from birth to adolescence. Hong completed her medical qualification (Doctor of Medicine) in 2000 and Specialist Paediatric Fellowship in 2004 at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She then practiced as a paediatric consultant in international public children's hospitals and private hospitals, including paediatric and neonatal retrieval services.

 

Hong undertook full paediatric training through the Sydney Children’s Hospital and received her specialist fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.  She has a wide variety of experience in general paediatrics, neonatology, developmental paediatrics, subspecialties (such as neurology), and paediatric emergency.  She is also an associate conjoint lecturer for the University of NSW.

 

With more than 15 years experience in paediatrics, Hong enjoys working with children and families through effective multidisciplinary teams and evidence based practice, to provide the very best care for her patients and families.

 

Outside of work, Hong is a mother of two daughters: one is teenager, and another is university student.  She understands how challenging raising children can be and is a great believer of maintaining a healthy, happy, and active lifestyle. Hong enjoys spending time with her daughters.  She loves flower arrangement, gardening, jogging, swimming , and playing the piano.


She has special interests in newborn care, growth and development, weight and nutritional concerns, and behavioural concerns.
